The Toddler King Part 4
5 am. in America
the toddler king
checks his Twitter feed
and wonders how to spin this one
how to make this one a win
in the empty parking lot of a big box store
a plastic glove pirouettes on the viral breeze
the toddler king thumbs through
The Totalitarian Dictators Hand Book
a present from that rascal, Stephen Miller
“hmmmmm….cull the herd
leave the old and weak to die
already got that one going!
banish the teachers, scientists and intellectuals
send them to the countryside to work on a farm
hey, that might work!”
but then he becomes a little wan, a little wistful
he wonders why he’s always the guy
standing on someone’s front lawn, shouting
“Look over here, look over here!”
while Miller and his gang ransack the house
and leave by the backdoor with the television
and the jewelry
he stares out at the White House lawn
and the suffering, beleaguered nation beyond
and thinks:
“Hey, I just realized the ‘Caps’ in Caps Lock stands for CAPITALS!!
I wonder how many people know that!!”
Taking part in OPen Link over at dverse.
Also taking part in Open Link Weekend over at earthweal.
Brilliant!!

Oh dear. He is quite the stable genius then.

Stable, maybe not but he does have a genius for controlling the narrative, unfortunately.

This is just exquisite, Jim. You couldn’t have come up with any better similes than our Baby in Chief distracting while the robbers empty the coffers, decimating both the tangible and intangible realities that have held us all together so long. I especially love the Hand Book, and the Caps Lock–satirical to the max, and like all good satire, achieving their point by being so very close to the straight-up truth. Really well done.

Thank you, Joy! An particularly for your comment on satire, I really appreciate that. Satire can be a delicate balancing act.

OMG, this is perfect. The caps lock thing is too funny. His whole presidency would make the most absurd farce, if only it were fiction and not actually and destructively happening. And his ratings are high, which scares me even more. I love reading you…..as Brendan always says: keep ’em coming.

Dude’s a genius! How can we not see it? Isn’t that special? Aint it grand? What else is there? Amid the greatest disorder to sweep the entire globe, we get the only show on earth. The two are … inextricably bad. He is the distracting kazoo while the Steven Miller Band pillages the panty drawer. Giggling. Well done, friend.

Thanks Brendan…and the Democrats are so weak. Every time I see Joe Biden, I think of my former soccer coach at half-time “Ahh now, lads, is this the best you can do”

Wow – I cannot even watch his briefings. As his admires take center stage to thank him for his great leadership. ugh…
now, I have this Steve Miller line looping through my head
“We’re traveling fast from our dream of the past to the brave new world where nothing will last that comes from the past,”

Yes indeed, he uses words like “death” like he’s just discovered them.

Brilliant and chillingly accurate portrait of The Toddler King. I used to call him Cheeto but now I call him King Joffrey.
