Bike Ride by the Fraser River
tug boats and log booms
the plaid twock of a golf ball
a band playing soul
the sweet, sweet smell of Purell
backyard wedding, guests on Zoom.
The challenge over at earthweal is
“STRANGE WORLD is the theme of this challenge. Take the opportunity to assess what’s become so strange in your world……”
It is a strange hybrid world, of those who believe in the virus and those who aggressively dont. Stay safe, Jim. So far, so good.

A strange world indeed – I love the idea of wedding guests on Zoom.

Your poem reflects the state of things right now well–the slightly off, refracted nature of reality, and the human repercussions.

Short and sweet, Jim, just like pandemic wedding ceremonies. I quite like this new kind of wedding among tug boats and log booms, with the guests on Zoom. At least we stand less chance of being bored by a distant relation who can’t stop talking.

and then, there’s the uncle who drinks too much and insults the bride’s mother! 😊

You sum it up well – things are normal – and not normal. Very not normal.

Like a turn in the road, scenes from a normal bike ride take in sudden sights like a Zoom wedding.
