Redwood Tanka
new shoots from old roots
deep in the cedar forest
I’m birthing clichés
surrounded by the slowness
the ancient ticking of time.

No better place to experience slowness than in the forest. I was in your city last week, Jim, making a visit to my son in hospital. I was glad how many big trees there are everywhere, in such a busy city.
